ISBN 978 1 872438 00 9 (1994) A5 Illustrated, pbk., £9.95

Prematurely retired through illness, Patricia Ross did not stay idle for long. Inspired by Arthur Mees Kings England series, she bundled her husband, John, and Burmese cat, Nutmeg, into a caravan and set off on a rambling picaresque tour of the ancient county of Gloucester, to see if anything mentioned by Mees 1930s guidebook still remained. A roving west country odyssey, shot through with dry wit and humour.
Patricia Ross has had a long and varied career as a writer and poet. Originally from Hull, she has lived in the South of England for many years, but still keeps in touch with her Northern roots.
Former newspaper columnist and latterly teacher of dyslexic children, Pat has been a prolific author in one form or another all her life.
